A swan drinking from the pond in downtown Reykjavik. The water had a strange texture, reminded me of quicksilver.

Some swans, ducks and gulls there swiming in quicksilver....

Thanks for all your comments on this image. Some like the cropping (half a swan...) and some don't but I decided to focus on it's head and it's beak action there. I did some sharpening, and levels and a tiny bit of saturation adjustments if I remember it right, but not much. The texture and the blue colors were amazing on the original shot. Shot a few other birds on the same day, maybe I'll post it on my pic page later on (//myndir.tyrkinn.com)

The water does look like quicksilver. Would like to have seen more of the swan.

i like the cool colours here, but wish more of the swan was in the shot, the "action" is well captured too though!

Great composition. The water looks surreal! I like how the swan isn't centered in the photo. Great job.

Have you desaturated some colours here? The water works extremely well in this mix of grey and blue. The same colours are reflected on the swan, and the yellow of the beak adds a splash of colour - very nice indeed, one of the better efforts I've seen this week.

Love the colours, and the softness of the swan against the coldness of the water. Great composition.

The curves of the highlights on the water blend with the curves of the swans neck and body. Lovely colors, shapes.
