 Our country, like many others, is full of ducks. Normally you get the standard brown and green/grey ones. Fortunately I ran into this family. It is very rare that the ducks already have little ducks at this time of the year. Normally they come about four weeks later.

Hard to get the exposure right, this one is 2/3 stop underexposed. Autobracketing, AF.

Cropped, resampled, unsharp mask.

Everything is in focus in this pic which is necessary as a shallow DOF would have blurred the back duck. The composition is fairly good, everything is cropped evenly. Personally, I would have liked to have seen a little more of the reeds at the top, but that's just me.

Nice family of ducks. I especially like how you were able to catch the water drops from the splash of the little guy in the back. The lighting is fabulous, especially on the mom and chicks. Dad's head must have gotten into the shadows because he's a little dark, but other than that, I don't find any flaws. You should do well...good luck.
