 Shot just in time to submit for the challenge. Picture is of my daughter - Urvi. I went to sleep late and saw the light from the night lamp on her face. She looked gorgeous and I just had to submit this for the challenge.
No Crop, Adjusted Contrast, Sharpness and Solid Frame.

Generally an OK image and not a "kid" picture but some voters will treat it that way anyway and vote lower because of it. The clarity and detail of this image is above average. Use of "darkness" is good.

The main technical flaw is in DOF. The hand is out of focus. Most viewers will find that a distraction in this image. Shooting a longer exposure at a narrower aperature would correct it. Some viewers might find the graininess of the child's skin on the face unappealing.

excellent take on the challenge, good use of light but im sure ur getting comment s about it being too dark go figure) i have two girls of my own so i know what this means to u ;) this is getting a 10 from me..good luck..hope to see ya at the top

The challenge is what darkness mean to you....I think this is probably a good photo, but a bit too under-exposed to really see details. From what I can see, the hand is not in focus. I have to strain my eyes to see the beauty in this darkness. Try lightening this up a bit and I think you will have a better image. The striped shirt piece between the hand and face is so much brighter than the rest of the photo that it grabs my eyes away from seeing the beauty of the face
