I didn't get to see the original but to me the processing didn't add anything to my understanding of the photographer's intent.

Interesting attempt at an alternate view of things. The world of darkness as visible to a bat, or something like that? I really prefer something more emotive for this challenge, but yours is a whole lot better & more ambitious than all the many feeble "let's just take a picture at night-time" efforts. Well done. 7

The extremely high contrast and low color density is just not appealing.

i don't really grasp what you were going for here. cool effect, but no purpose for it.

get a little post processed happy? Not a bg fan of photography turned pointilism myself - i see it as digital art, not photography.

Viewers often wonder what this image looked like before it was artistically manipulated by the photographer in post processing. This works a lot better than most abstract images. It is taken at a good angle. DPCers tend to be more oriented toward "realistic" imagery more so than abstract imagery, particularly if it is accomplished in post processing, and the score you get with this picture will reflect that.

this is different....I don't know how the majority of the voters will like it, but I do

not a bad photo, but it does not really say "darkness" to me. I do like your 'out-of-the-box' thinking however - very creative. 5

Creative way to meet the challenge. I like the mottled effect.
