From the Critique Club
Right off the image seems a little soft on focus. I do find the image very well put together beides that. Proportions are well balanced.
Their is a but of a blurry highlight(for a lack of a better word) on the background right in front of the birds beak. I think the colors need a little pop but with added detail of it being slightly more in focus it could have solved the problem.
The lighting seems to be behind the bird and on the right. The side you photographed just does not pick up any of the light besides the crown of his head.

I love the softness of the background, but, the foreground is a bit too soft for me. Still, the lighting and highlights are very nice. |

Beautiful bird. Only thing holding this image back is that the softness hides some of the detail. Crop, composition and DOF are excellent. 6 - good luck in the challenge! |

well lit under tough lighting. The focus is a bit soft. that background hi-lite draws the eye right in. i think it really helps the pic i'm just not sure if it's in the best position it could be. |

Our kiwi version is an import from oz but has a blue head, and lives free and easy, quite q frequent visitor to my garden.
Nice pic . but use a tripod and a remote release, there's a bit of shake if I see it right. 6 |

The focus is rather soft, and the subject seems slightly underexposed |

This would have been better in focus. And the light is coming from the wrong direction. |

Nice composition. Image looks a bit soft, though. Was the light not coming from the best angle, too? Anyway, he is a cute little guy. |

nice composition, a bit burned on the head and neck, colors are good, background blur looks good except the bright blue spot. |

Nice close-up. I wish that bright spot was not behind the bill, and that it was more in focus. |
