Thinking about this challenge made it obvious a large number of bright and colourful birds would be shown, and we (as in the people from Holland) don't have many of these around! Or i had to go back to the zoo wich i didn't feel like.

What we do have is a lot of roads and a lot of traffic on it, so finding roadkill would be easy, right? Well i spend the whole afternoon to find just one dead bird! We had a nice shoot and then it was safely removed (no bird was harmed during the creation of this shot)

A different take, well executed (excuse pun!) with excellent framing and use of context. You'll probably score poorly because this is so gloomy, but it reminds you of the relentless slaughter going on on our roads. Well done.

Not a photo that i would hang in my living room but i see your point ;-)
I like "out of the box"stuff, but this is somehow not working for me personally...
Hope the voters are gonna go easy on you ;)

Qaulity speaking, this is a good photo! Nice use of a shallow depth of field, colors are good, not a centered subject! but IMO, it's a sad photo!
It would probably gimme a diff sensation, if the title was different, and without the cars on the shot! Not voting you down though!

An unusual subject matter and an unusual viewpoint of a sad but everyday occurence across Britain. Seems a bit tilted and the bright sky tends to pull my eye up and out but, I do like the viewpoint. 7

black frame is appropriate, but not even on all sides (add the frame as the very last thing you do in editing). Subject matter is sad! DoF is excellent at drawing the eye.

A sad image, but sharp with good color. You could have taken a lighter approach with a tight crop and a title like, "Collapsed Across the Finish Line." I want a picture of the look on the drivers' faces as they passed this photographer shooting roadkill. ;-)

I like the DOF and the colors on the bird are nice. The border takes a little away for me, but I don't subtract for that. Overall a nice pic

Well if a picture is supposed to generate emotion, this one succeeds. Wonderful DOF. Might have cropped so the bird was lower in the frame, seems too centered now.

while technically this photo is well composed. I don't like your subject matter. duh. I know that it's easy to photograph dead birds, but you should try live ones I think. the exclamation point in the title doesn't help either because it conveys a sense of enthusiasm.

A great challenge entry and nicely executed too. I like how you chose to shoot this with the bird facing away from us. Great DOF.
