| I voted it a 5. Liked the composition, but didn't like the eye lid appearing to be out of focus. The white on the wing is a little over exposed and detarcts my eye from the head. Well done in making the top 100 anyway. I still would have put it around 50th myself. |

I find the bottom center feathers a bit overexposed. I do not know if it was a result of some other factor or in the original image. it does not detract to much but almost appears fake to me.
Lots of detail in the face but for some reason the eye seems a bit soft in focus. Might just be the angle or some post preocessing artifact.
Nice scale to the overall bird. Does not compete with the background for the viewers attention. The border works well...nice size and enough thickness. |

I scored this a 7 but here's what I see...
- Foreground feathers seem to be over exposed
- Feathers around the top of the head are out of focus and the eyelid seems to be a bit soft. This may be due to movement of the bird indicating that a faster shutter speed should have been used.
The DOF could be increased therefore bringing more of the bird into focus. |

| the exposure needs to be cut back to retain detail in the plumage, this seems a common fault in thid challenge apart from that a nice portrait 6 |

| I think your whites are over-exposed and the way the top of his head and back of his neck blend with the background is a negative, but on the whole a pleasing effort. |
