again one of those tricky-faky photos. The background is actually another picture displayed on my notebook. Did some minor contrast/brightness postwork + crop, frame.

I recommended this for DQ as it's too good to be true ;)

I'm hoping this image is legit, though. The only problem I have with the shot is that there appear to be fingers on the left hand side (?!). Did you achieve the dramatic contrasts with curves and selective colour? I'll be interested to know what this looked like originally.

Good luck with this challenge, a dramatic image! A 9 from me because of the weird black shaped silhouette on the left which detracts from the image. Good luck!

Not often I give the top vote to a picture which has a finger in front of the lens ;-) Dramatic maelstrom which really gets to the heart of this challenge

Fantastic content and rich colors. Foreground objects are a bit confusing and sort of off balance the photo. Good job.

Beautiful use of color. Excellent use of rule of thirds. Good exposure the lightning looks silvery -- difficult to pull off. -- 10

A good surrealistic image regardless how it was achieved.

Having taken a lot of lightining images myself it is obviously this is not natural. Certainly there will be voters that feel you are trying to pull something over on them and will vote it lower because of that.

It appears there are fingers or something that is not a natural gelogic feature coming in from the left side of the frame that is alluded to in the title. Be intersting to see how voters react to this image.

Spectacular storm photo. A light (ening) vs dark (stormy clouds) concept is what i myself feel in this image. I hope i am clear on this but, WOW look at that storm!

This looks really cool.
The dark black on the far left is a little distracting though (it looks like a hand)
I still gave it a nine.

Perhaps cropping out the left could have improved it, those fingers(?) are disturbing., Otherwise very cool!

I don't get it - is this a real photograph that you took - or something else? ...
The question is: You took an image at sunset (or sunrise) with that bolt of lightning ... and a hand was in from of the camera??? ... Or is this an image of another image - with a hand in front of it.
The lightnight looks a little radical to actually be reall ... and in the last week - so I'm just curious if I'm missing something!

Oh my! This is really a cool picture. I wish the sun were not quite so blurred but other than that - really fantastic. I love the deep rich reds and red oranges and the lightning is really a great touch. Nice!
