Love where you're going with this.
Just seems meaningless in terms of composition.
Maybe a close up of the face, with the shell reduced to an eye-pleasing bokeh.
Or vice-versa. |

| Very sharp image, but I can't see the connection to darkness with this one. Maybe if the turtle was peeking out of its shell it would have made more sense. |
