From Critique Club

The motion blur of the wings is very striking at first. But with this style it leaves out alot of detail in the face and wings. I am not saying either is wrong. Just two different styles to approach.

The grass to me has a bluish tint and under exposed. I do find the colors and contrast to be refreshing and spot on. The legs seem a bit odd to me.

The overall placement is well balanced. The viewer sees the main subject without having anything competeing with it. I also like the lack of a border. I do not have anything against borders but find you really did not need one.

Hard to capture these quick birds other than on a perch, I applaud the effort.
Grass, however, is one of the dreariest background imaginable for most subjects.

Thanks for your complement. I only used levels in photoshop to adjust the color. The photo was a little dark to start with - underexposed.

Nice photograph. I like the blurred motion of the wing. Adds interest to this shot. Like the dof.

I love the fan effect his wings make. Maybe crop more of the green grass from the bottom and sides to really have a tight frame on him. If you can enhance the red anymore that might also really bring him out.

Beautiful colors on this shot. The motion blur is interesting. I like it, but at the same time, I think it distracts a little from the detail of the feathers and the bird. But it definitely makes the shot more interesting than just a bird standing around :-)

very neat motion blur, but I think that you could have made the photo a bit larger, which is normally a good idea
