A.M hiking and fishing near Williams, Arizona today. The lake area was filled with these beautiful and noisy birds. They were very hard to shoot as they were out in the reeds and my lens wasn't long enough. :(

I like the grass and the subject, but the bird is hidden by too much grass in foreground.

really like your composition. nice job of focusing on the bird through the reeds. I don't know if it was your camera letting you down or intended, but the noise makes it feel more like a painting than a photo. i like it-8

I really like the idea of having your subject shaded behind the marsh grass. Interesting perspective.

Iove the lines of the grass and the hiddeness of hte bird. If you could darken the background on the top a bit it would help the make the birds yellow head stand out a bit more. But that is probably difficult to do without over exposing the grass. Good luck.

nice grass but where's the bird? oh wait, there it is! (my eye isn't immediately drawn to the bird making this a less appealing shot. Also looks to be slightly out of focus)
