 A male blackbird perches above my office (a converted church) ready to deliver food to his partner who is sitting in a nest on a ladder. It's a high walled courtyard so it's about the most secure nest in London!

I had to look twice before I even saw the bird; the first thing my eye seized upon was the curve above the bird's head, which lead my gaze out of the picture. I like the texture on the wall, but there's a silhouette of a bird in the way. Shooting against (and exposing for) such a busy background takes attention away from the bird, which is presumably the intended subject of the photo. Metering on the bird and washing out the background may have produced a stronger entry for this challenge.

This really appeals to me; more than just a bird, it is a lovely composition with balance and beautiful backlighting, the stone is interesting, as is the metal window..well done and unusual...8

This is a very nice photograph. I love how the bird, although it is the main subject, is understated in this image. It goes very well with its surroundings. Great light, too.

Great photograph! Like the composition, the framing of the bird in the window bars. Really like the dark tone and how lighting used. Lots of drama here. Very interesting pov. A favorite of mine in this challenge. Could be used to illustrate Edgar Allen Poe, "The Raven."
