Critique Club:
Hi Jason, now I understand what you meant by the title "Bathroom Duck" after reading your description.
Your submission to the fauna challenge evoked a variety of comments and the votes you got were fairly balanced. I think this kind of post processing is a matter of taste, some like it and some hate it. I myself like the effect, it has turned out interesting as I wrote in my comment below.
The composition is good, especially with the duck leading into the middle of the image with its head and beak. Both the focus and detail are spot on.
The yellow, grainy effect you decided on is also okay but doesn't give me that "wow" feeling at all.
Good luck on future challenges.

I would definitely run Neat Image or USM on this. Then again, I hate grain. Better luck for both of us and our cam next time! |

Sharp image! Good detail. Personally, I don't care for the coloration used. Female mallards have lovely, subtlely colored feathers. 6 Rob the Swash |

The high contrast works well. Not crazy about the color effect. |

I'm not so keen on the choice of colours for this one - would have preferred natural colours. You've caught some lovely detail across the head and its back. |

Nice details, but not sure what I think about all the off-yellow. |

Nice position of the bird in the picture. I'm just not crazy about the manipulation of the colors in post-pocessing. I would really like to see this in its natural colors. I think it would be a whole lot more appealing. |
