 Virginia Renaissance Fair

Conditions were sunny and hot! The event was held in an open field and we were there from 11am to 2pm. Needless to say the shooting conditions could have been better and I struggled not to overexpose (and to hold onto my 3 yr-old son)

This is one of my favorites from the event. There was a childrens area and various items were out on display for the kids to get acquainted with...these baskets of wool were positioned near the front entrance area.

I think there's a lot of potential in this shot with all the different textures. As you mention, the lighting could have been better... which to me is an invitation to Heida-ize! Some burning on the background straw, maybe a bit on the baskets, and a slightly tighter crop on top could look really interesting...
