This is my dad, James, turning wood in his shop. I love the way the wood flies off, it looks fake to me.

Some may feel this isn't construction, but I think doing anything that is MAKING something, especially creating it, is definatly construction.

A nice eye to capture this. nice angling and sense of motion. you didn't list full exif, but i'd wager this would have been more dramatic with a faster shutter speed, freezing the moment even more.

hmm i would have gone manual focus and then waited until the gouge or skew or whatever that tool is to come into the depth of field

Is this construction or carpentry? Looks good though.

Nice depiction of motion. I can still tell that it is a turning that is being constructed. I also liked the use of available light. Even with the motion, there is still detail detected.

Cropped to closed to see your subject. If I didn't know what was happening, I'd be confused

neat shot. I think it might have had more impact if you showed the craftsman working t this lathe.

It is a nice, moved picture! I just find the distance a little small, so the movement in the picture is slightly confusing.

This one is close to my heart. I can almost smell the aroma coming from the shavings. Nice image, with some great color, and lighting. The textures add interest. Very nice close-up. <8>

Too much of a stretch on the theme for me. Nice image in another challenge though.

Nice idea & a fair number of interesting things in the photograph to catch the eye. I had a hard time identifying the action, though. I would have preferred to have seen a clearer stream of wood shavings.

Great capture of the motion whilst retaining sharp focus on the swarf & dust! The colour is great, too!

oh, i love it! when i was brain storming about what to shoot for this comp., i had thought of wood working. i've seen only a few - but shot's that took no effort. this one though - it's pretty. comp. is nice, 'action' is awesome, and the quality of the light from rt. and above is very well done.

one of my favorite!

good job!
