This shot was somewhat set up. I took a branch from a tree and tied it above my bird feeder. I used red flowers from a hanging plant and tied them to the branch to add color. The bird feeder was set up about 20 feet from my family room picture window. I closed the drapes set up the camera pointing at the chosen spot, prefocused, and waited for a visitor to wait his turn to go onto the bird feeder. This was the best shot of several attempts with several varieties of birds. I used my canon 75-300 telephoto. Cropped, increased saturation and contrast, sharpened, cloned out some minor disturbing elements and used Neat Image.

Very nice image. I love greens in this shot, which very nicely compliment the blueish-gray titmouse. The reds almost create a holiday feeling. Very nice composition, with wonderful textures and tones. Might be a ribbon winner! <9>

Now just go out and reshoot the same thing for the birds challenge!

Well done of the framing, alot of the less conventional frames I didn't like as much but this one doesnt seem forced or odd at all.

I'm no animal expert, but that, my friend is a bird - not a mouse. ;-P
