hey thanks ofr the comments everyone! i know the white queen should be placed on the white space because i play chess a lot and ironically a friend actually asked me if it was supposed to be the other way around while i was starting to set it up. but somehow i still got it wrong...aye all those years of middle school chess tournaments failed me, such a nerd such a nerd |

White queen should be on a white square - board is oriented incorrectly. Sorry but that's a deduction. Technically an OK photo but something is keeping it back from being dramatic. Maybe I just can't get past that darn queen on the dark square....uurgh! |

I am as tired of chess shots as others are of pets and kiddie pics, but this is very nicely done, beautifully lit, and sharp focus. I like that the unlit pieces are also in focus and reflecting a few shots of light. Also fits the challenge well. |

Shouldn't the queen for white/clear be on white/clear or did I forget the game. |

I love the way the light shines through the glass pieces. Wish there was a little more light in the background, everything fades extremely quickly. Good angle for this shot. |

Superbly lit and sharp. Love the highlights on the glass. Meets challenge very well. My favorite. |

I don't feel that the image conveys instantly recognizable decision. No people, people make chess pieces move, other wise this would have been up there mate. Nice pic! |

The lighting here adds so much. It is especially beautiful with the reflection int he chess board and the transparent chess pieces. Very nice example of a decision made. |

Great idea, wonderful lighting with the clear pieces. However ... Queen gets her color on inital set up, and the move shown is d4. |

I don't like the glare, but you've chosen an interesting way to compose this. There're a lot of chess shots, I hope you do well.
Good luck. |
