Great image! It was one of my favorites, but I guess that the red spot at the left didn´t help it. |

Nice image and composition. The colors don't look "real" to me, maybe it was overprocessed? Well nice job anyway. 6 |

Amazing colors and capture of the bird its silhouette just about perfectly placed in the diagonal stream of lighit. This almost looks like multiple exposure with the dark orange color on the left. The horizon of that area is in exact line with the remainder of the image.....Just cannot imagine how you accomplished it. That said, it does detract a bit the glory of the image and think that you might have cropped in left and presented the remainder in a portrait orientation. The exposure is so great and the compostion is as well. |

are you kidding me? did you collaborate with god on this one? "ok, god...you direct the seagull to the perch, and just as he crosses by open up the clouds and allow a shaft of light through...okay? ....go!"
anyway, neat shot. it's near perfect...perfect would include the seagull being in the shaft of light as well as the perch. they're both sooooo close, which is sometimes a negative because it makes me want to see it in a slightly different way. also, one last thing...i really feel that the bottom should be cropped a little more. it would give you the more conventional aspect ratio, but more importantly, my eye wouldn't be lead out of the photo - right now it goes from the shaft of light, to the seagull, over to the perch and then follows the light down and out of the frame. if you crop up to the third "wave" from the bottom, my eye will go from the shaft of light, to the seagull, to the perch/light on the water and back around the frame. i hope i'm making at least a little bit of sense..just a little.
anyway, great work, nice patience! beautiful. i think you get a 9, 10 with the right crop. |

I really like this picture, the lighting is superb. Something, somewhere, doesn't look quite right, though and I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the reflection not matching the sky? If you did do anything to this, I would love to know what it was 'cos it certainly works. |

The different textures between the water and the sky are outstanding in this shot. Wonderful sillhouette of the bird as well. The light coming through the clouds really ties the photo together, as well as the bit of dark orange in the upper left. Nicely done! |

This is a really pretty image and quite moody. I may be missing something here, but I can't quite make out what the blur is on the left center? I can see that it would have been difficult to crop out because then the highlight of the water wouldn't have been bounded on both sides by dark and would have spoiled the compositional balance.
I love how the seagull is flying into the light beam. |

Oh Wow! I gasped when I first saw this. It's gorgeous. It's the kind of exotic, beautiful scene that makes people like me -- who live in scenery challenged places not want to even enter challenges like this -- but of course I did anyway and am kind of suffering for it too :) Everything about this is beautiful. The light rays, the colors on the water, the lone bird flying in the light. It's just awesome. |

This is quite extraordinary. Technically it's riddled with flaws, but it's a drop-dead capture of a stunning moment, made perfect by the bird flying into the light and slyly augmented by the tiny background bird in the other light patch. Strong score, well-seen. |
