 I do not think that this will do very well against more traditionally "beautiful" shots. I wanted to try something a bit different and abstract.

Thanks to all the commenters! This image did properly represent the colours of the arches and pillars and did not use any significant selective desat. I used a bit of saturation to bring the colour out, and reduced some of the other tones to increase the contrast against the pillars. The pillars are found next to St Pauls in Paternoster Square.

I gave you a 9, because 1. it's a very good photo, 2. I like the out of box concept, 3. colors are beautiful, 4. good composition, 5. simply a very apealing photo in my opinion.
