Good idea for sure, but the green seaweed becomes more interesting than your intended subject, and therefore distracting. Perhaps a b/w shot that's tighter would work better?...

Image is a bit on the small side. The selective desat isn't very effective, imho. The grains aren't emphasized enough by the focus choice, and I feel this image could improve with closer crop, sharper focus on the graininess.

Except for the size (I'm the 15th person who says this, right?) this image is beautiful, color of the seaweed, the sand and the print are just great...next time remember, bigger is better :)

The foot print itself is interesting though the green seaweed or whatever that is is rather unapealing and distracts from the main focus of the image in my opinion, also image is a bit small.

This looks like an really interesting image but I want it to be bigger! Always try to use the max 640 pixel dimension when you can...the "smallness" is very frustrating...the light does look beautiful as do the textures...bigger in this case is actually better. : )

The granulars look very smooth. Your largest adge can be 640....think this may be a bit smaller that you could have done.
