As for fitting the challenge, you did it. As for taking a high quality photo.. I think it needs a little work. This seems more like a documentary type shot that you'd see in the paper although I'm not sure that they would be able to print it because of the soft focus. It also seems dark, and it is hard to make out what we're seeing due to all the branches.
We had a similar mess on my street during that week with lots of trees downed during a micro burst.
Thanks for sharing. Sometimes just participating and getting some comments is worth more than a score anyway. |

This was about a mile from my home - in the neighborhood I used to live in, actually. This was a garage (and there is a car in it, which didn't show up in the photo). The tree missed their house which is just to the right of the garage. On the other side of their house (not shown), another [huge] tree fell completely over, uprooted and all. It was quite a mess. I took this picture from my van - this was the clearest shot I got. It looked very clear on the display of my camera, so I thought it was a good picture. It wasn't until I got back home and saw it on the computer that I noticed the blurriness. I decided to submit it anyway. |

That looks scary. Photo wise....it is OOF. Not sure if a smaller aperture and longer shutter speed would help much. The smaller aperture would give you more DOF and more than likely give it better focus. |

Good example of weather related damage. The shot seems to lack a high degree of clarity. 8 Rob the Swash |

I hope this wasn't your home. What a tragedy. You've captured something very powerful here. |

It seems a little undifined; particularly amongst the crowd of brances. I do like the way you have captured the effects of the severe weather. |

What's an ice storm? Did ice cause that or rain? What a mess... and nice capture of it. |

You got a very high mark from me. This certainly fits the intent of the challenge. . . unfortunately, at someones expense. Did you hand hold the camera? I would have liked to see this shot a little more in focus and crisp. It is going to be interesting to see how it stands up to the beautiful sunlit scenes or traditional cloud shots. Good luck. |

black and white would make this a perfect picture. |

Oh wow. A lot of distruction here caused from weather so good use of the challenge. The blurriness, though, is causing distruction of your score of your picture in this challenge. |

Good subject for the challenge. Unfortunately, the picture just isn't very clear. |
