 Close-up of a dime with a grain of salt. Taken with my point-and-shoot camera and a 45mm slr lens hand-held in front. The nearness of the lens prevented good lighting so I couldn't show accurate coloring. DOF was very shallow, less than the diameter of the salt. Very difficult shot. I would like to try this with a good camera.

Very creative! Love the placing of the grain so it seems that the eye is focused on it! (Was that deliberate?)

I really like the focus of this photo. I think it might have looked better on a darker background, though? To bring out the copper tone and emphasize the single grain of salt.
