This was taken in an abandoned burned building in total darkness. There was a boarded-up window with a crack in it that let in some light making the streaks on the wall.

The ghost - my mom - had a torchlight in her hand which she pointed at herself for half of the exposure time (hence the partial transparency).

There were absolutely no filters used in Photoshop or on camera (for those commenters who think I edited this too much). All I did was - brighten it, adjust hue & saturation, and sharpen.

Wow, I can't believe this didn't score higher. I thought this was a contender for top ten, at least!

That wall by itself would have been a 10 in my book but the thing on the left just isn't photography to me, although I'm sure it was legal for the challenge, I doubt it helped your score.

Very nice job. I really like it. The only thing I would suggest is to make the ghost a little more transparent and less light on the face & hair - it seems brighter than the light in the room, and I generally think of spirits or apparitions as being more opaque and dimly visible. Again though - kudos for originality & a great shot. (7)

This is probably one of those love/hate things, but I don't really care for the treatment of the person in this. The wall looks really CG...it is hard to tell where the photo ends and the filter takes over.

Edit: After making this comment, I found out that there were no filters used, and the person on the left was iluminated with a flashlight for part of the exposure. Facial features were cloned out for ghostly effect. My apologies to Jasper.

Very striking photo. The light on the red shirt is luminous, and I really like the light, texture, and detail on the wall.

They said, "use lighting in a creative fashion"...you have totally hit the nail on the head with this image, gorgeous light, excellent effort, absolutely divine! I love the textures, the movement, the deep tonal range contrasted against the rich reds and golds...very well done. 10
