What AMAZING lighting! I would love to see some before after shots of your work because the way you post process things is so unique and I would love to learn some new tricks. |

Great shot Heiða, this is by far the best picture I have seen of the withered grass burning. Lets just hope that there will not be more of them though. The lightning is great, it is playing with the smoke on the scene and the men, and by that giving the extra touch good that makes this picture great. I am not sure that everyone understands exactly what it is about but it could mirror so many things that it really doesn't matter. Your photography continues to make us - your fellow countrymen - really proud.

This shot iimmediately made me want to ask all kinds of question. The typical who, what, where, when, and why would just not be enough! I want to know the whole story. Are they running away? Is it a volcano? Are those waves crashing in the background? Or is it steam. I will not rest until I know the whole story!
VERY compelling shot in many ways. The light situation is incredibly moody and mysterious. The lone tree draws the eye towards it, as well as the dark figures, whose movement is apparent. Great combination of lines, forms, textures, and light. |

Well, I just wrote you the worlds best comments on this stunning photo...but then lost it by not voting first and hitting the favorites button, so I will try to duplicate some of the comments now,
This is a masterpiece! The color/lighting is exquisite and sets the mood. The vignetting caused by the smoke (and maybe PS) is perfect and frames the shot nicely. It keeps your eyes wandering around the shot, oogling every little detail. My eye continually shoots up to the people wondering what their story is. Why are they wandering around in this wasteland? Where are they going? I wonder why that shrub was the only thing spared. The border does not detract anything from this shot and I like it. Please let us know more about the story behind this shot after voting is done. I'm sure you will want to anyway as it assuredly will win a ribbon. Either way, this is a portfolio piece for sure. Great job. You have inspired me beyond words. |

Great shot! Looks like a lava field. The people are nicely silhouetted against the light color of the smoke; I like the b&w used and the softness of the lighting on the smoking ground and sky. It is a fascinating shot...9 |
