4 drops yellow food coloring in one glass and water
6 drops blue food coloring in another glass and water
1 - 75 watt GE soft white light bulb, ball lamp
no post processing other than crop, resize, save for web
It was really hard to decide on the pic to use. I took so many and every slight movement of the light or one of the glasses made a totally different picture. I decided on this one because of the shape of the shadow being more defined, the front reflection of the yellow glass in the blue glass, the rear reflection of the yellow glass, now green as the light has passed through the blue. The background is a piece of 13 x 19 photo paper (what I use for my prints) showing the back side, not the glossy side. The glossy side made the shadow appear with a lot less definition. I experimented with multiple lights for better shadows, but they always distorted some other portion or put in a flare at just the wrong spot. |
