Big big big thanks to Gosia for helping me with all this. Without her this wouldn't be possible. She was my strobe light and assistant :). The idea was thought through very thoroughly. The main problem was the absolute lack of equipement. We used a wall light as the flash, which was triggered on my command by Gosia - manualy :) The composition and placement of the subject and the background had to be fixed ( we had no choice ) because that was the only place we could get the wall light point. I am aware that on some monitors you will see no border between the background and the table and on other monitors you will see it clearly. I would gladly burn this line out, but I am not allowed to. While shooting after 20 or so tries, it became clear that with this placement it is impossible to avoid this "table line" from beeing seen. The other problem we had, was the fact that we had to count seconds while exposing the shot, so the "dabbler wall-flash" was never triggered in even time periods. In addition each flash was never the same length. Some where shorter some where longer. Human reflex is too slow for this. Not to mention the delay between my counting, my command and Gosia's reaction. I admire her that she was able to pull of, what she did, becuase I thought it was impossible.
Now how to understand the image :)
The hammer represents events taking place in our life. They may be good, they may be bad. We don't know that. All we can do is wait for the "hit" to come. The brightes hammer ( third from the left ) is the actual event - the actual moment in life. The two fading hammers on the left, are the events that already took place and we are slowly forgetting them. The -fading in- hammer on the right represents the thing that will soon happen to us. An event that is shaping, but we are completely unaware. The hand stands for the destiny - it is the destiny that is driving our lifes. Finaly the apple is of course the symbol of life in this shot. The representation of us, beeing hit with many events every day.

| There's a signature embedded in this image :) Nice take, nice idea, lilke the blurs. white spots near the apple present distraction points for me, though. |
