I actually like the symmetry of this shot. It goes along with the semi circle curve of the tree. The muted pastel colors are also nice IMO. I like how it fades from pink to blue. I think the shot could be stronger with a nice two toned frame.
Did you use a tripod? The focus on the branches seems a little soft. Low light exposures are tricky like that.
It's a very simple shot. Probably doesn't portray weather as well as some other entries. With 300 shots to vote on, you really need something that stands out. This is very subtle and understated. It's still a nice effort. Keep on shooting!

think this maybe should be a little off center. a little too symetrical. it would work if the sun was still above he horizon

The layering from light at the top to dark at the bottom is good, the silohuette of the tree and bushes is also very effective. But the tree being so centered takes a lot from this pic. It would have been better to place the tree to the left or right of the image.

nice symme-tree! maybe adjusting the post processing saturation levels might have brought out some more of the sunset colors.
