This is a great way to show your apple, I really like the setup--
I am gonna say a couple things that probably have been commented on before though-

First, its noisy, check your ISO, and if it cant be hand held to get a suitable shutter speed at a lower iso, then get a cheap tripod.

Second, and Im not voting lower for this, you have a few hot pixels, in the members challenge they are easily coned out, but they cant here..

I really like the apple, next time use a tripos, shoot at a lower ISO-- or use neat image, Its legal in Open Challenges..

Still a 6- becuase I think this has potentential..

This image is just lovely and reminds me of those old film day images printed on coarse paper to impart that very artsy effect. Bump.

This one is quite out of focus. There is also no light source to add contrast.

Great concept but suffers from soft focus. Looks like you have a couple of hot pixels. :-(

Pity it took you a long time to get the shot, Iodine kicked in...spraying with lemon juice would have prevented the browning, nice idea...
