 Taken at "Cave without a name" near San Antonio on an end of year class trip. I adjusted shadows to 15%, highlights to 50% and midtones to 65%, then used USM, created a layer and used soft light then cropped the photo. The photo was take in automatic mode with no flash and AWB.

What should be your subject - the person's silhouette - is in this case very secondary due to the grandeur of Mother Nature's fascinating display. Nice colors.

To me the main element of this is the rock and not the silhouetted person

This is a nice shot, but your subject gets lost in other shadows within the frame.

This reminds me a lot of Carlsbad Caverns? I doubt if anyone else will have an identical photo, well done.

I like the background very much, unfortunately, it has so much contrast that it takes your attention away from the silhouette.
