COMPOSITION
I think the composition of this shot is very well balanced. The eyes are drawn to the bottom left then pulled up the prop to the upper right. I obviously don't know what the background contained, or what your mobility issues may have been, but I think it would have been neat if you could have been "up" more and more on the horizontal with the plane. Or, if you could have gotten some good motion blur of the prop (not that I would want to be taken the picture when the plane started, but it may have added a touch of interest to the composition.

TECHNIQUE
The focus is awesome -- I can read the red sticker. Also, even though you have shadowed areas, the exposure is neither too harsh, or too dull. Very nicely done. You have captured details without blowing anything out.

OVERALL EFFECT
You have captured weather well, though possibly indirectly (which is fine by me!). The blue sky provides a nice backdrop, and the shadows hints at the sun. I suspect the subject of the shot may not have grabbed some viewers as immediately as it would others. This would be a great print for an aviation buff or pilot, or would look good hanging in a hangar, etc. For the general public, though, it may not do much. But still, it is an awesome shot.

Best to you in future challenges.

Nice approach to the challenge... makes me want to go cut some holes in the sky myself! :) Composition, perspective, and angle of the prop work well to create an interesting shot. Exposure is perfect; even on the brightest portion of the spinner. Nice shot!

Good job conveying good weather without the typical sunset or sirrus clouds.

great angle on the nose of the plane, but the crop cut out the right propeller blade! :(
