 This was my Grandfathers watch. I have always been fascinated by the symbolism and uniqueness of this watch. The marks visible on the face are actually pits on the underside of the glass. Nothing I could do about them. I don't think I would be able to replace the beveled triangular glass, so it is as it is.

My first attempt at what I would call "studio lighting". I used an OTT light with a piece of printer paper wrapped around it to diffuse, another sheet of white paper at the bottom of the watch, leaning against the tripod to try to remove the shadow below. A couple of hot spots on the jewel and point of triangle at top, but best I could do.

I will post some shots of the back and sides of the watch after the challenge if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Centred composition works well. I like the way the object seems to be floating. Lighting is generally OK - too strong would mean losing the nice detail on the metal work moulding - but it's not very even. The lower left area of the frame seems darker than the rest. Perhaps a light reflector might help with that? In terms of content, it's not an exciting shot, though it certainly meets the challenge and is well executed. My main reaction is, nicely done shot of a quirky object, move on. I need something more to hook my attention.

Good macro shot. Definately a triangle. It lacks the "wow" factor, and I can't put my finger on what you would need to do to achieve it. Sorry. I scored it an 8.

Love the background. Personaly I would like the top of the background lit a little more and the bottom to be dark a little more. Anyway nice image. 7.

could have been better if a better light. Use a flash would help distinguish details. Where did you get this?
