 Set up: Dining Room Table

The picture was set up with a black background, and underneath as well. Camera set to long exposure (10 secs).

Room was pitch black, except for my trusty flash light (again!) and black light setup in front. Tried many different approaches, until i ended on the flashlight creating astreak of light behind the coloured vases. There were originally 5 vases, but the first two were almost the same colour. I cropped the first one out.

Some PS, but mostly cropping, levels, a little saturation. Resize, USM and add border.

That's it!

Not generally my kind of photo but this one is really done well. Top five for me. The shape of the colored lights is what really makes it IMHO. Great job!

Nice play between the static vases and the light oval. Subject(s) could have a bit more room and or assymetrically offset, if I can trust my 'sense'. Also, a lil oversharpened?

To me, this image speaks of how color is created by light and by perhaps something magical--so you adhere to the challenge very well and in dymanic, almost mythic ways. Wow! I like! 10

What a cool idea. Original, and a great way of showing colour.
I would have prefered a tighter framing, losing the bottom of the vases, to make it more abstract, but that's probably just personal taste.

I think this is a very cool picture and is quite well done. I am guessing you had the shutter opened for a relatively long period of time and “painted” the streak of light using a flashlight or something. If this is the case I am very impressed with the lack of noise in the picture. The lighting is very appealing for me. I can’t think of a single suggestion to improve this photograph. I gave it a 7.

very creative. the light is a bit harsh at the top of the glasses, but, the colors are very nice.

Wonderful play of light. The effect is awesome, you've brought out some vivid colors here without creating any unwanted reflections in the glasses. Must have taken you a long time to set up. 10!
