Excellent job with the b&w/color! It makes the photo.

I think an outer border with the color of the darker tree bark would work better, either in place of or added to the current border. I like the coloring, composition, etc....

Well done, one of my favorites this week, I really can't think of anything i'd change to improve it

Strange processing on this photo. Interesting pic though especially regarding the perspective of the photo. The flowers are kinda neat even.
04/12/2003 11:31:54 PM
I like the use of the branch (perhaps a little to close on the left). Very good focusing to have the bunch so clear.
04/12/2003 07:15:55 PM
Very pretty - like the border selection.
04/12/2003 04:16:04 PM
Beautiful, and interesting too. Like the dof, like how the purple is the only color.
04/12/2003 03:43:42 PM
I love how you have done the desaturation on this one. The pinks and purples look fantastic with the b&w. Its a great photo :)
04/12/2003 03:00:17 PM
beautiful perspective!
04/12/2003 05:20:28 AM
very interesting photograph! i love the crisp focus on the foreground blooms, and the dof of the leading lines of the branch to the distant blooms. Fabulously done!

Awesome colors! The B&W background effect enhances the colors even more. Shallow DOF also works here. Maybe the purple border is too much of a good thing though?

found this a very intresting shot really nice

I like your composition here. Made me think I was looking up the main trunk of a tree at first, but then I saw the horizon. :)

Love the angle and the close-up of this picture! Nicely done! Beautiful!
04/09/2003 12:52:37 PM
This is beautiful. I think the angle is just perfect. And the colors too. That's really all I can say.... :)

Great macro and composition on the background and good choice of border colout too. Good luck

Very, very nice.

Nice color isolation.

Very bold and interesting composition here. Nice job on the selective desat. (If, indeed, thats what you have done!).

A definite wow shot. Excellent use of focus (anyone who says differently doesn't understand focus at all). The colors are the central aspect of the picture. The only thing I don't like is that the trunk leads my eye out of the picture. 8

I like the shade of purple in this phtoto. The texture is nice.

I like the composition of this photograph. The use of color and depth of field are very well done. The background is far enough out of focus as to not be distracting, and the blossoms in the foreground appear to be well in focus. The exposure is very good here, I canĂ¢€™t find any blown-out areas and the lighting is not too harsh. The only suggestion I would make on this photograph would be to try it at different times of the day. From looking at the shadows underneath the flowers it appears that you shot this one around noon. I would try it in the early morning around sunrise or in the late evening as the sun is going down depending on which direction the tree is facing. I think that lighting might eliminate the dark shadows underneath the flowers and could bring out the color more. Good job here, I gave this picture a 7.

Beautiful image. Good dof and colors.
Also what I like about this picture is that the flowers seem so lively in contrast to the dead environment in the lower right corner. The pink border disturbs me a little bit though

Lovely purples crawling over the edge of the tree. great focus, nice and sharp, bringing such lively colour to the photograph.
04/07/2003 04:45:13 PM
I like the details in the foreground on the branch.
04/07/2003 04:30:57 PM
Did you ever consider cropping it to just the spray? The distant branches are a distraction. Love the contrast of the bark.
