Greetings for the Critique Club:
First, let me say that this meets the challenge very well. The purple peeps and the green eggs make a nice contrast. (they should make purple peeps, they look tastier than the yellow ones). Your idea is also excellent and the touch of the egg is really cute while at the same time being bizarre because it makes us realize how completely unnatural and alien the peeps look.
Some possible suggestions I would make for improving the shot:
First, I would set it up a little bit more balanced. I like the placement of the peeps, but the camera seems to be tilted at a slight angle. Also, I don't like that they are cut off. If you're going to do a very zoomed in macro and want to cut them off I would at least recommend cutting them off in equal amounts on each side.
Second, the lighting is a bit harsh and it makes the peep on the left overexposed and makes the grains pop out giving the image an overall impression of being out of focus.
Also, I would have liked the see the image composed differently so that the egg isn't so close to the bottom corner. It seems like the egg is what is supposed to draw my eye to it at first glance, but since it's almost on the border I find myself leaving the picture and going back to it. I would move it a little up and right, which would also bring more of the left peep into the frame. Don't put it dead center either, unless you've arranged the peeps perfectly symettrically around it.
I agree with the comment about the surface being distracting. It would have been better on a plain white or black table or something. I have the feeling htat it was on a grey marble table and that it turned into purple when you did adjustments in the channel mixer, but I could be wrong.
All in all, a nice Easter photo and I'm sure you still have some peeps around to experment with. Have fun, don't eat too many and get sick!

I love purple, so anything purple will win me pretty fast. I like though the simple touch of the green egg to add some contrast. |

I love Peepers -- what a nice idea to have one sitting on a green egg! Very original. |

These marshmallow things are pretty much tasteless, but somehow addicting. Is that one on the left laying an egg or something? |

I like the green egg as using color to compose the shot. However, the closest peep is overexposed and the egg isn't near the center of the shot - so it's hard to figure out what is going on - why are there three? What if you did the same thing with the two ducks (mother and father?) looking over one green egg, like "why is it GREEN?" THAT is a colorful composition! :) |

What are peepers? You've got a nice rich purple coming through here. I personally would have used a different color background though, not one the same color as your main subject. |

I think the granuales of sugar are reflecting too much light and take away from the picture. |
