i like this image quite a bit. the lighting is right for the mood, hidden part of the face convey a sense of something that's potentially sinister, nice dof with good focus on the eyes, which is something that i'm trying to "learn" to do better. 9, but bumping to 10 on second look. |

Beautiful! (in a photographic way) Great expression, lighting, cropping, and wonderful tones.
Only, the focus could be more crisp on the eyes, and the side forehead is a little hot. 9 |

I love how the contrast works here from shadows to detailed white area then off to soft focused area. 10. |

I guess daddy won't have to worry about too many young suitors asking his daughter for a date. Great capture. |

Oh sure, tease me with the title, and then show me his *face*..
More light needed in the eye that is the focal point. |

I like the intensity of his gaze: his expression speaks louder than words! Good lighting on left, good use of sepia tones, and I like that the side of the face away from light still has some definition. |

I like the framing & lighting. Very well done expression by the model. I most definitely would not give him any trouble. |

Nice shot! Maybe it would have been good to use a reflector or a fill flash to lighten the face a bit. |

strong expression, a different cropping would have made it stronger IMO (either cropping off the right side, or having the subject more centered) |

Sometimes I think the titles get in the way. When I look at this image, I see a very nice image with great detail, and crystal clear focus in the face, with a nice out-of-focus shirt and ear, which helps me concentrate on the wonderful photography of the face. HOWEVER...without the title, I can look in this man's face and see sincere passion, or I can see disappointment, or I can see intent listening and concentration. Whatever the "Mood" is, this is a great image, and deserves a very high score. I'm starting off with <8>. I expect to it will be bumped up a bit the second time throough. Good luck on a great image. <8> |

This is outstanding. I wish for a little more light (perhaps dodging or curves) on the eyes, but overall I really love this. Great expression, immediate sense of mood. Well done! :o) |
