Ignoring the challenge, I like the juxtaposition of the items and the fact it's a female condom (isn't it?) which makes it seem as if the woman involved is in control. Not sure on the focus here. Seems to me the focus is soft which is right for the rose but not for the ciggie packet . Personally I think the border is right for it but too heavy.
A well composed and interesting shot, creative with great background and lighting.

Just to pick up on your description. A condom does not say 'safety'. Just because something is safe or enhances safety does not mean it evokes a feeling of safety. For example an airbag is not something that will give you a feeling of security, whereas the smell of your mother's perfume might.
And for me the picture of the condom and the cigarettes take out any eroticism, sure condoms might be a necessary and important part of the erotic, but in themselves they are the opposite.

Ok, listen guys this is the thing. I had no idea what minimilism was, I talked it over with my sister and we came up with probably Minimilism-being the bare necessities. Having that in mind, you can ultimately see what I was aiming for here. I know it isn't minimilism, but at least now yall out there may see my good intentions. TY for all the comments. I may try to re-shoot this one in a different challenge so don't be surprised to see it again. |

I enjoy both your composition and your advocation of birth control, however how am I suppossed to believe a MAN is going to use that condom if you have Menthol Lights in the background. Thats a pretty big falacy! |

First I don't get it. Second, this has nothing to do with minimalism. Webster - Minimalism "a style or technique (as in music, literature, or design) that is characterized by extreme spareness and simplicity " This is anything but extreme spareness and simplicity. |

Eww, cancer sticks, you can't hide them behind the condom. well composed I guess though. I'm giving it an 8 because I don't think many other people will. |

Interesting...though technically this is a good photo in my opinion, i'm not sure I see how the cigarettes fit with the rose and the condom, also not quite sure how it fits into the minimalsim challenge? |

How romantic. A rose, a box of menthol lights, and a condom.
What exactly is 'minimal' here?
I could make a tasteless joke, but I won't... :) |

I'm not really seeing the minimalist angle here. 4 |

Nice photo. Interesting subject, good composition. Too much going on for it to meet the challenge description IMO. Not sure what the message is either... but sometimes I'm dense. |

I'm totaly lost on this grouping. I'm litterally scratching my head over this one. Outside of that it's a well taken photo. |

Here I see three subjects taking 85% of the real estate and sharing the bouws. An important message that is nicely presented. |

whoa, provacative, and different, it barely fits the challenge in my opinion, because without the title, and to a small degree with the title, the subject lacks a strong focus point. The text probably dominates the photo, or the red rose. good try, 2 |

Three elements doesn't really fit the definition of minimalism. |

I'm not sure what the focus is supposed to be. The title implies the condom, but the rose or the cigarettes could work just as well, making this shot pretty, interesting, and completely off topic. |

I'm not sure I understand how this fits the challange. The picture itself is set up nicely and is well done. |
