Easy to find a snail with all the rain we've had. Placed him on a piece of paper and shot away. I had to continually re-position him.....they're faster than you think!

slight USM, NI.

I like the blue

Interesting idea. The blue hue takes away from the impact of the picture.

too much cyan. colorbalance issue?

Nice composition but I find this photo to be a bit too dark.
Also I am not too fond of that halo around the snail. It gives a feeling of over-sharpening.

Lovely entry. The skyblue background is an interesting choice, as though this earth bound creature is wanting to fly!

I like this, it's an interesting image, with a background that works well

I think that it is the wrong choice of background colour. It looks like the snail is flying.

Meets the challenge definition beautifully. Would like to see a little more light on the snail, and maybe a little less blue - even his body has a blue cast to it, and I don't think I've ever seen a blue snail!! :)

I like the overall setup of this shot. I get the feeling that the snail is looking at how far he has to go to get across this picture.

This would also make a great negative space photo. The halo around parts of the snail detract from this photo. Another, would be the slimey trail they leave behind.

My second snail-on-blank shot seen tonight. Yours has the advantage of being on blue, which is less harsh on the eyes and slightly more interesting than white, but has absolutely nothing else of interest, whereas the other one had at least an interesting shadow. There is also a visible halo around the snail, which is distracting.
