 I went for a long drive on Skyline Boulevard. The broken clouds made great light. I loved the little chunk of road that was visible, hugging the hill. Its shape reminds me of a diving bird.

I don't know if the road is small enough to properly be called minimalist. We shall see what the voters think.

Taken with a UV filter. Slight levels adjustments and a USM.

Absolutely stunning.....no...breathtaking!! I didn't vote this time but this is gorgeous! I keep looking at it and I can almost smell the fresh air, the grass, the warm sun on my face. Awesome photo!

Love this.. Simple, warm colors, how the wind moves through the grass. I think it fits the challenge perfectly.

Beautiful place, beautiful photo! I am not sure how it fits with the challenge topic, as it seems the whole landscape, not only the road, is the subject here.

That is pretty cool. The road is definitely the strong point, and it does look like a bird. Hit me pretty quick.

I love this image - color saturation, contrast, and sharpness all seem perfect. Fits the challenge nicely, too. The only thing that would improve this is if it could be a huge image - and I know you've used the whole 640 pixels. I'd love to see it at about 900 pixels: I bet it would be beautiful as a print. 9

Beautiful light and wonderful landscape. Would love to know where this is. Great use of mist compressoin to show depth and distance as well. I think that there could have been a stronger focal point in the foreground --- in comparison with the rest of the image, it just seems a little bland to me. Great shot either way, just some food for thought. Details rock, and colors are astounding. Top of the line work.

I can't see the relationship between the title and the photograph. Is the road meant to be the centre of interest. If so, I would have liked to have seen a bit more of it on the remote hil.

I have looked at this image, awesome it is to, for several minutes trying to figure what is flight got to do with it?? Sorry but the challenge does say strong subject.

Awesome landscape shot! You've caught the lighting just right (although I would like a little more in the foreground), it does highlight your minimal road though. The deep blue in the background seems a little odd, but I guess that is how you got it. Great shot!

I have no idea what the subject is. I see nothing flying. What draws the eye the most is the little strip of twisty road. The background, especially in the upper left corner, is pretty, but a bit ordinary.
