Ever wish you could hide under a rock?

This was edited at home and should have known better - got pretty beat up in the comments.
FWIW, that is NOT a man's ear, but rather a 105lb. dainty woman's ear - my wife's to be precise. Guess the detail was just a little TOO clear here with the peach fuzz showing too well.

Oh well.

I really find the close up of the ear to be a little disconcerting in this context....sorry!

It's nice how you show the colored earring against a black and white of the person. Really makes the jewelry stand out. The only thing that detracts for me is the hair in and around her ear. It looks like it's on a very old person--was that the intent?

Great detail. Good use of desat. Bumping up.

Great photo that contained "part" of a model subject. colors make it stand out nice and sharp. GL

Nice image of the earing, but having a person where the jewelry detracts from the intent to sell the jewelry. Overall this is an excellent photo, but it doesn't work as a jewelry ad in my opinion. The details on the model (hair, freckles and skin) overwhelm the subject of the image the earring

The picture itself is remarkable. Crisp, well-lit, wonderful and appropriate use of desat. Those are not easy stones to shoot. The type is doing you no favors herem however. One thing I notice that's really bugging me, though; this would appear to be a MAN, with a BEARD, and then there's the downy ear-hair... Seems at odds with the headline, "Color HER world"... What do you mean, if I wear an earring it color's my GAL's world? I don't quite get it. So basically you're confusing me with an otherwise wonderful image. Strong score regardless.

I like how the b&w brings out the color of the opals ... unique ...

A top 10 pic for me, the colors in the earring are just amazing.

Too close for my comfort. Beautiful piece of opal jewelry, but the skin and ear hairs distract me. Excellent selective saturation.

Don't take offence to this but the hair is distracting to the jewelery. The earring itself is gorgeous. 8

for this type of image try smoothing the skin such that there is no competition for attention with the subject

this is simple and to the point. The coloring keeps the attention on the subject. 7

Love the opals, but not the hairy ears and face.

Nice use of b&w and color to attract the eye on the earring.

Nice layout, saturation, lighting and text. I'd clean out the hair strands, though. 8

How can I say this without potentially hurting someones feelings...I love the color of the jewelry, in focus, great lighting...the model's facial hair is distracting for this type of photo (Jewelry Advertisement). Not sure what the solution is (if any is needed, after all this is just my opinion)...maybe apply a slight blur? Overall, great shot. Good luck.

Nice piece of jewelry, but the extreme detail on the ear (hair and pores, etc) is not very appealing.

Great concept. Great image but the fuzzy ear and skin is pretty unappealing, IMHO. 8

i hate to say this but imo the skin textures and the hair on and in the ear takes away from the photo.

The line is great as is the photo. I have a problem with the ear. Too much detail that really takes away from the idea. Perhaps a different DOF or neat image.

very good composition and the jewelry pops where it should. Your only problem, I hate to say is that when you do a close up on an ear for jewelry it should be without distracting hair, wrinkles etc....or it somewhat distracts. (they probably shave young 20ies models ears for this kind of shot. Your idea etc...were excellent though.

I like the photo and would like it better if it were more closer to the stones
I do not like the text ( font )5

I applaud the intent, the colour against the desaturated background works well, but I'm sorry, the ear doesn't work for me! 5

nice detail in this shot but too much detail on the model takes away from the jewelry. the ear and face should have been PS'd to clean it up. Great idea all in all.

This is a beautiful picture, for me. the text really ditracts from the image, particularly the text at the top.

Nice shot of the earring, but the ear and skin is not very attractive the way it is presented. Hope this is helpful.

This is a good image...the selective desat works well. However, I find that as a woman, I am a bit more focused on the hairs on her ear and face than the earrings...it makes the earrings less appealing and they (the hairs) seem to distract because they bring my attention to them instead. I also find that the text at the top is a bit light; perhaps just the text at the bottom would be best.
