This image is rather busy and not particularly appealing

i've not done much close-up photography, but i'd suggest simplifying the composition somehow, taking out the rock and carrot, maybe

my question is does it meet the challenge?

In my opinion, it could be improved by removing the carrot and the rock.

There are lots of distracting elements that take away from the snail, such as the bright carrot

The first thing that catches my attention in this photo is the orange object at the bottom left corner. I don̢۪t notice the snail until after I have looked at it for a few seconds and even then it isn̢۪t terribly well defined. For me the subject needs to be brighter and the background needs to be darker. The composition also makes me a bit uneasy while viewing this photo. It might have been better if the snail was traveling into the frame instead of out of it.

The lighting is a bit harsh and photo a little cluttered.

I love this shot. Unfortunately this does not meet the challenge IMO. I do like the colors & textures, and the clarity is really good. I wish this fit more with the challenge.

Good close-up photograph. Strong color use. It is a bit busy for me to pick out the snail at first glance. Not quite minimalism, IMO.

Just a bit too busy to really see and visualize the snail. The light is okay and the colors just not that interesting since we only see a small amount of the snail.

From a minimalist perspective, I think the background elements are too distracting. The snail and the branch with an empty or completely out of focus background would've looked better. Also, a longer depth of field would help get all of the snail in focus, but that probably would've made the background elements even more distracting.

I think there is to much here, seems cluttered.

lots of images in this photo, IMO, nothing seems "minimal"
