it's a small object that's the point of focus, but is lacking something more that makes me want to look twice

fits the challenge very well, the lines in the grass bother me a bit

Good interpretation of minimalism, i was beginning to wonder if there were any in this challenge.

Well, you get marks for wacky creativity...
Sort of.

I like the texture of the grass, but the point of view of the orange just doen't 'pop'. 5

It's an orange in the grass! I hope the tree isnt far behind.

The orange is overexposed, perhaps a -1/2 stop exposure compensation is in order.

I like the texture, color contrast, minimalism, and it also makes a person wonder what the story is to how that orange got there! 10

I almost feel compelled to pick it up.

Strong colours, good composition - the semi-percieved lines in the grass work well. The vignetting is useful too. I think I might have been tempted to get a touch closer, personally, to play up the contrast of texture too, if possible - I think you could afford to be a touch more orange in this challenge. It's difficult to decide whether I like it or not - I shall come back to it.

lacks creativity, focused on the subject, but it's really not that interesting 3

This isn't dripping with interest or anything but still a good shot. Good lines and color.

A difficult image to comment on really, it has simplicity and is minimal, but the elegance I associate with minimalism is lacking

Almost too minimalist, the subject is not strong enough to hold my attention.

Nice lawn. No weeds! My problem with this image is there is no real reference to size. I'm really not sure what I'm looking at. Without the title, I would be clueless. This could be the head of a pin on top of a pool table. I could be a golf ball on a putting green, which is what my first thought was. It could be an orange from and orange tree laying in the grass. It could be a beach ball laying in the grass, and taken from a higher altitude. Does this make it a bad picture? No! Just one that troubles my mind, because it doesn't really know. <6>
