Nice DOF, but I can't say that I find the subject interesting. |

Sorry, everything is just too out-of-focus. I think it would have been better to focus on the bug looking down towards the ground, rather than having the building as the background. |

Now this is a funny picture, and what an excellent use of shallow DOF (or blurring of the background). I'm not entirely sure it quite works, but as a concept it's great. ~7 |

What's in focus? Where am I supposed to rest my eye? Is it the little bug on the rail? It doesn't seem to be' the strong point of the image'.

Very interesting and cool concept
I'm wondering if you found it or put it there
Either way you get a 10 from me man/women :-) |

Even though the background isn't in focus, all of the detail that is still there keeps me from focusing in on the 'bug'. 4 |

technical problems need to be corrected......Bug is not in focus and there is nose in the image. |

Fits the challenge better than anything else I've seen thus far in my voting. Focus seems to be off - without the title, it could be anything - dead bug; bird crap; an old piece of gum or candy... Colors could use a little boost. |

The background is far more interesting :) |

Perhaps a bit more detail on the bug would be nice while still keeping within the restraints of the challenge |

Not a bad idea but the backround is irritatingly drawing way too much attention. IMHO you either need a bigger aperture or a longher focal length to decrease the DOF to not include the backround as much or a smaller aperture to include all of it. As it is you can make out way too much about the backround but still not enough to make out details and that really draws the eye away from the fly. Better luck next time. |

Unfortunately the OOF background is more interesting than your subject |

The background is too distracting and the bug is ... well... dead. |

A difficult image to comment on really, it has simplicity and is minimal, but the elegance I associate with minimalism is lacking |

An interesting setup, except that the background isn't blurry enough to keep the eye from being drawn by the bright green roof. Without the title, I would have thought that this was just a horrible picture of a house. Something needs to draw the eye to the subject. |
