 I was driving in Snaefellsnes today and had already prepared a rock/scissor picture but this lava rock just came out there and took over;-) Auto levels, contrast and color. Hue/Saturation, contrast/brightness, cropped, framed, but I wanted so much to burn a bit - but this is basic editing;-)

I think this photo could have done a lot better, but didn't for two reasons: (1) it's too small, and (2) it's too dark. I'm glad you didn't burn anything in, because it certainly doesn't need to get darker! Making it bigger and bringing out some foreground detail (which probably would have been possible within basic editing), and maybe sharpening it a bit, would, I think, turn this into a really stunning picture.

Lara: Very nice. What I really like is the contrast between the fresh jaggedness of the lava rock and both the softer mountain in the background and the plant-covered rocks in the foreground. The spatial arrangement of the three is very dynamic. --Dan

a beautiful picture but I think you over did it with the lava rock. Maybe a different angle would have solo'd it more. Now it looks like a nice mountain picture with a rock in your way. Colors seem a little bit dull but not bad at all.

This would be for a nice scenic picture. However, I do not get the lava rock part.
The foreground is just a little to dark, try increasing the lighting a little more.
My first look was where is the rock?
