 On a hot day in Jerash, Jordan. The new Roman army is preparing for the Chariot races to start at the Hippodrome. Darkened the image a little since it was tad overexposed trying to get the white background

This is a great candid shot - perhaps I should have bumped it up from 9, but I didn't get around to bumping up any of them. Would it have made any difference?
Anyway, it reminds me more of 'Life of Brian' than 'Gladiator' - maybe there's a similar photo in the LoB book of a Roman soldier looking somewhat bored...

Challenge: 10
Composition: 10 of center using elevation makes this a good shot.
Technical: 10 Capturing the shadow is nice. The colors are sharp and the contrast really makes the picture appealing
Creativity: 10 you dont normally see this
Overall: 10

OK... didn't expect this one at all! I simply love it!!!!! Especially the over exposed surroundings really give it an extra characteristic in this case, makes you think of how things were back when with the heat and bright sun. Superb photo!

Very nicely composed subject & shadow. I like how you made the background white, it really makes the subject pop. I would have cloned out the few remaining blebs near the top of the photo, maybe you have to check your monitor calibration if you don't see these [9]

Harsh light seems appropriate. Very interesting. Could be taken straight from the movie Gladiator. Great colors as well. Nice.

OK, you're safe! :) Great shot - only criticism is maybe would've been better with brown dirt ground showing - like more colliseum context instead of the whiteout look. Very cool though.

What a lucky background! Great capture. If you had others with the centurian looking more in the direction of the camera it might have served to draw the viewer into the shot more.
