Downtown San Diego as seen from Coronado Island

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I knew that there would be a lot of comments about that red streak...I tried to clone it out but it looked weird because I guess I don't know what I'm doing so I just left it. Would that be considered a major element though? I had several other versions of this photo but I thought this had the best lighting so I chose it.

for cloning something like this, it does take a bit of work. you need to be zoomed it pretty deep, and you'll also need to go back and forth between the clone stamp and the healing brush. work with it when you have time--this would be a great image to practice on, AND you'd wind up with a killer print! have fun!

thats one helluva nightshot...good exposure...can't do nothing about boat lights in long exposures but maybe try cloning...once you get the hang of it. Good shot!

Very nice, but I'm not sure the boat lights add much. I might have cloned them out. But then some might argue that they are major elements.

Good one. Looks like somebody was rocking the boat. I'm going to try my hand at some nightshots soon.

Like the sheen of light on the water and the one boat going by. Good lighting.

good exposure. I find the wiggly line distracting though.

Great night shot..looks like dusk or just afterward..it is a very inviting view and I like the movement of light on the water.

funny wiggle on the water, like a sperm

The squiggly lines across the water are pretty freaky, especially when combined with the smooth-as-heck water that a longe exposure creates. They do give the shot an extra point of interest though.
Great colours overall. Lights a little hot in a couple of places but not too much. Great clarity.

Perfect exposure and right time with still some colour in the sky. I don`t think the wiggly line from the boat helps as it`s very distracting.

San Diego, huh? (Not hard, seeing as there's a bunch of shots like this floating round a thread right now). A neat shot, and I especially like that red line. the sensation of a slight tilt goes away after a moment, so I'll presume that's an optical illusion.

Perfect exposure, but I'm not diggin' the streak in the water. It just looks out of place. If you were goign for that, I think it would work if you'd cropped for portrait, but in this context it just distracts from the skyline.

oh, DAMN, don't you hate those boats!!! they can make interesting images in and of themselves, but why do they have to show up uninvited! this is a spectacular view, one that i am sure looks much better larger than 640 pixels. you really might try cloning and healing out that streak though, as it really does come across as being out of place. good luck!

The light from the boat passing by is distracting. The rest is beautiful.

BREATHTAKING!!!!! I am SO jealous of these exotic cities on the water that make pictures like this possible!!!! I love the hot pink movement on the water. This is really REALLY awesome!!! 10
