Cropped, USM, adjust curves, etc. No spot editing at all. I talked to this guy for 20 minutes and got his permission to photograph him. He's saving money to get his trumpet reconditioned.

I expect to get hammered because the background words from the restaurant are too focused and too much part of the composition, but I like the yellow-blue color-play and the obvious message that this is a street musician.

Great lighting on the trumpet. I wish the wording behind him weren't there. His facial detail is well done.

You can tell a lot about him by this photo. Good choice of subject and nicely shot. A few hilites over exposed on trumpet.

Challenge: 10 meets my requirments or person or people
Compostion: 10 I love the way you filled the frame. The left side orientation adds to the right side with the use of the trumpet
Technical: 10 Very sharp and the colors are just delightful. I can see the various tonal shadows of the brass. A color very hard to show in digital photographs.
Creativity: 10
Overall: 10

The signage in the background is a little distracting, but otherwise this is a wonderful portrait! Good luck in the challenge.

nice framing, lovely sharp focusing on the instrument, if the blue background was desaturated a bit then the instrument and man would leap out more imo. well done one of my top photos.

This seems a little closely cropped, but is nonetheless a very interesting candid. Somehow, it seems as if this would make a stunning black and white... but that's probably just my personal preference coming through! Textures and clarity are awesome. Nice job.

Great tones. A little bright on the trumpet, but works overall.

background of this candid is distracting and if it was blurred, would have enhabced the pic.

Cool dude and very nice candid portrait. My only suggestion would be to clone out the light in the middle above his instrument.
