Smashing photo!! Portraiture is so hard and capturing the essence of a child can be difficult, but you did it with pinache!!! Excellent.

This is IMHO quite simply, the most stunning candid (but it goes way beyond a simple candid shot) type portrait (even though it tells way more of a story than a portrait possibly could) that I've ever seen of any subject of any age. It's made all the more powerful because you've managed to capture in one image the innocence, the delicacy, the simplicity and the ovewelming urge to protect, love, and cherish a child.

I can almost hear her waking whisper... Good morning Daddy, I love you...

Unusual approach to a close up portrait but with all the hair over the eyes not sure it makes as strong an image as it could.

what a sweetie! A little more focus on the eyes and it would be perfect

I really like this. I wish the face was a bit more sharp. Still, good idea.

If only more of the top eye were visible.... I love this sweet tender moment. I hope your family album is full of such pictures! 7

I’ll tell you the absolute first thing that popped into my head and stuck there above all other considerations when I saw this shot. The big hunk of hair over her one eye just completely rules the image. When you do close ups of people in my opinion the eyes make the shot, almost without exception. In this shot with no other elements that would have been intruding – if you had just adjusted that one hunk of hair so you could see her eye it would have made this fantastic. Wispy hair is ok, but almost totally covering the eye becomes a distraction.

I gave this photo only a 5 because I think the eyes are so important in children's photos...sweet little girl...

I really like the composition here. There is some kind of noise (perhaps film grain or compression artifacts) in the image that I find a bit distracting, particularly in the highlight on her cheek.

i dont care what anybody says, this is just too beautiful for words!

what a cutie! Which her hair wasn't covering those sweet eyes. 6

Beautiful picture. The skin tones are excellent and you captured a very appealing expression on her face.

I wish I could see more of her eyes. Great composition.

Just a hint of camera shake on this shot. The exposure is very good, and I like the close in composition.

Terrific. I like that you cropped in and just concentrated on her face. Very well done. I'd give it a ten if I could vote on this one.

The charm of her face is lost in the hair:) She looks beautiful.
04/18/2005 04:37:49 PM
looks a little blurry

she's a cutie...focus is off but everything else right on 7

cute girl... it all seems slightly out of focus though

I like the up close feel of this photo, but I would have liked to have seen the eyes more clearly
04/18/2005 09:00:10 AM
What an AWESOME picture! She is so beautiful, and this is such an interesting capture of her!!!
04/18/2005 07:22:48 AM
what a sweetheart. Nice moment.

Nice composition, though the crop might be unnecessarily tight. Also looks like you've got some motion blur, makes it difficult for the viewer's eye to settle on and investigate the image.
04/17/2005 10:25:41 PM
wd like to see more of eyes.

Phenominally fantastic portrait - however, it looks like you may have needed a tripod b/c it's blurry in parts like the nostrils. Otherwise, absolutely perfect.

Seems a little bit oof to me. She is beyond cute. Best of luck.
