Not sure how I thought this one up. I hate olives. My wife likes them though. I had a real hard time getting rid of shadow completely, so I decided to exagerate it and make it an intergral part of the image. Other minor detail: I broke the tooth pick in half because it was too long. I procesed it through Neat Image to make it cleaner.

Jacko, I like this very much! It is simple and clean and very graphically strong.
The composition works very well with the subject and shadow. It almost reminds me of a sundial. You've left enough negative space to make the subject really pop. The framing here is fine too.
The colors are good and natural looking and exposure is fine. Your choice of white bg is a good idea.
The focus is a wee bit soft, but still within the acceptable range, imo.
Post processing in Clean Image served well.
Overall very good, simple idea, effectively executed.
Regards,

Grayce

Love the shadow, and for once I feel the border helps the photo. Nice work

Realy nice shot, good idea for the Challenge, shows some imagination and originality.
Your lighting is just fine, creating the shadow that you obviously intended.
I like the colour that you captured of the red "eye" staring out of the Olive.
Good use of the rule of 3rd's too. A really different photograph.
I hope you score high with this shot.

Composition, colour and clarity are just awesome. I really like the shadow and the choice of subject. The framing works well here too. Excellent shot. GL in this weeks challenge.

Don't like the green around the frame. Solid photo. Well taken and great color portrayal

The obvious question: Where's the Martini? Very clean shot. For some reason though, I want the toothpick to go all the way through. 7 from me.

Nice. I like it. Olive looks a little dry.

I'm sorry, I can't get away from the border - find it hugely distracting in such a simple shot. Also I think there's a lack of detail here - such a simple composition needs something extraordinary (whether it be focus, light, or whatever), and that just isn't here: 4

Very artistically done@ GOOD. I like the white background, the shadow, the colors, the light on the pimento, and the texture of the toothpick. High marks from me.
