This tree gives a nice lead-in to the photograph...I like the b&w, the hard shadows in foreground and the soft mist in background. |

Could this be Zoomie's? What makes this shot a standout is the layer upon layer upon layer of tonal range. You make Ansel proud. The sunbreak out along the coastline in the distance, just behind the "Sentinel" trunk is glorious, as is the subtle mist among the coastal rocks. IMO, cropping out a bit more of the grey clouds at the top of the frame would give this coastal Sentinel even fuller expression. |

The tree looks odd. Looks like some editing of the clouds. Too much gray sky above the tree. Bottom of image is too dark for my taste. Overall, the exposure/lighting isn't that great. Composition is cool though. |

This reminds me of the third place in the Ansel Adams challenge, the rock formations that is. The composition here is good, I wish the skies stood out from the hilltops a bit more though. A very good image indeed. |

really like the wide spectrum of tones, the strong composition, the crisp tree against the misty mountains. One of my ribbon picks this challenge - well done |

Zoom? Excellent as usual! I like the black and white treatment and the silhouette of the tree against a misty Oregon coastline. |

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!! I am JEALOUS of people who live on these exotic coastlines. I don't think the Texas gulf near where I live could even get a 2 in a photograph challenge. This is just so awesome! |

Hi Zoom! This must be yours. Haystack. Super nice shot. Really strange to be in AZ after 27 years in Oregon. Totally different. Love the b&w on this one. Very nice. 8 |

I found you, Zoomdak!
The view point in the lower right is tad distracting. It reminds me of your "Unexpected Invitation" shot. |
