Like Magnetic9999 I too saw sadness but first I saw confusion. I looked several times and saw several different emotions. This is truly a treasure of a photograph. Congratulations, Rissa. |

Apt that I make a comment on this now after elsapo's tribute to you, Tribute to Rissa in the Deja Vu II Challenge. This is still one of my favorite DPC photographs, and one of the first I added to my Favorites. The centered composition and simple coloring coupled with the straight down the barrel stare, make this such an excellent photograph.

Normally they say not to use centered composition but how could you not with a shot like this. Very well done and post processed. I am still wondering how you eliminated the cage its kept in without seeing it in the foregroung. Please let us know the technique or where you inside the cage for the shot. |

Technically Perfect. Truly stunning. My only reason for giving 9, not 10, is because I am seeing it against another stunning bird shot, that I marginally prefer for compositional reasons (not to say that this is not great compositionally) and I want to distinguish between the pictures. Purely personal preference. |

OhmyGOODNESS!!!!! How AMAZING!!!! It is so striking that it takes you back when it first opens up. The clarity of the feathers, and those eyes, and the bright yellow! The more I write and look at it, the more I think it might be my favorite in the whole 507 bunch!!! I REALLY love this! You did SUCH a good job!!! I wish I could vote 13, but unfortunately, it has to just settle for 10. |
